Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree. A minimum of four years professional administrative experience in a major component of public housing such as project management or policy development are required. Additional experience in project management or policy development in public housing may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Completion of the HUD Public Housing Repositioning Curriculum within one year of hire.

Recruitment Notes

The Housing and Community Development Department (HCD) is seeking an experienced leader to serve as the Assistant Division Director, Development Division. This position would report to the Development Division Director in the Planning and Development Division and would provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of the County's affordable housing development portfolio, including public housing redevelopment, Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) conversions, mixed-finance developments, Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) projects, and other strategic housing initiatives.

The position supervises Development Project Managers and Construction Managers while overseeing project planning, financing, construction, compliance, and implementation. This position plays a key role in advancing affordable housing production and preservation efforts, managing complex development transactions, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget and in compliance with applicable regulations

Pursuant to the authority in Chapter 8B of the Code of Miami-Dade County, when there is a declared state of emergency issued for any portion of Miami-Dade County, all employees of Public Housing and Community Development will be required to adhere to directives from the Mayor or the Mayors designee to report to work and perform all duties assigned during a declared state of emergency.
