Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor s degree. A minimum of two years of experience in mortgage financing, residential loan processing or loan closing is required. Additional experience in mortgage financing, residential loan processing or loan closing may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

The Miami-Dade County Public Housing and Community Development (PHCD) Homeownership Loan Officer is responsible for facilitating financial arrangements related to home purchases and improvements. This includes coordinating funding for second and/or third mortgages, or overseeing the closing of such loans, specifically tailored to assist applicants with low to moderate incomes in acquiring their primary residence. The role entails a comprehensive understanding of mortgage qualification processes, encompassing underwriting procedures such as credit analysis, income assessment, and appraisal review, in addition to managing various governmental and private subsidies. Moreover, the Officer provides support to their supervisor by evaluating and approving the work of colleagues, and assumes supervisory responsibilities in their absence, contributing to operational continuity.
Pursuant to the authority in Chapter 8B of the Code of Miami-Dade County, when there is a declared state of emergency issued for any portion of Miami-Dade County, all employees of Public Housing and Community Development will be required to adhere to directives from the Mayor or the Mayors designee to report to work and perform all duties assigned during a declared state of emergency.
