This position is responsible for coordinating and assisting with management functions related to all development, inspections and associated tasks involving new housing construction, existing housing improvements, home purchases, and vacant and existing property maintenance projects, program oversight, budgeting, compliance monitoring, and staff training.

(CHSA) is a local nonprofit 501(c)(3) housing organization established in 1989 by the City of Savannah in partnership with banking and community leaders to create and retain affordable housing. Essential Job Functions
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Architecture or Construction Management; with three years of experience in community development, project management, construction management or contract administration; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Lead Renovation Repair and Paint (RRP) certifications must be obtained within six (6) months of employment. Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor and/or Lead Assessor/Supervisor may be required within 24 months of employment.
Must possess and maintain a valid state drivers license with an acceptable driving history.
Additional Requirements
Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post-offer/pre-employment medical screen; and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment.

Minimum Standards:
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS: Work is performed under the general direction of the Director. The work is reviewed through conferences, reports, and observation of department activities.
GUIDELINES: Guidelines include Housing and Urban Development code of federal regulations, city codes and ordinances, the city building code, and International Building Codes. These guidelines require judgment, selection, and interpretation in application.
COMPLEXITY: The work consists of varied administrative and supervisory duties. Considerable analytical ability is needed to select, evaluate, and interpret data from several sources; interpretation of guidelines, policies, and procedures is required.
SCOPE AND EFFECT: The purpose of this position is to administer construction and rehabilitation activities for the department. Participating with others (within and/or outside of community/agency) in program development, service delivery, and supervision of subordinate staff; moderate to serious impact. Successful performance in this position results in the provision of safe and affordable housing for city residents.
PERSONAL CONTACTS: Regular contact with persons of importance and influence involving considerable tact, discretion, and persuasion. Contacts are typically with co-workers, city employees, elected and appointed officials, representatives of lending institutions, planners, contractors, architects, realtors, neighborhood leaders, members of volunteer organizations, homeowners, homebuyers, renters, landlords, and members of the general public.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table. . This is sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work is typically performed in an office, which involves occasional exposure to some disagreeable elements (dust, heat, fumes, cold, noise, vibration, or wetness), and accidents are improbable, other than minor injuries. The work is typically performed in an office or outdoors.
SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY: Supervision is exercised over all division personnel.
