Performs a variety of duties pertaining to eligibility of applicants and participants in Housing Agency programs; processes and prepares confidential and technical documents pertaining to client eligibility and on-going assistance; advises clients and property owners on Housing Agency policies, regulations, and procedures. Assists clients remain stably housed while maintaining compliance with program requirements. The hired candidate could be assigned to the housing choice voucher program, the family self sufficiency program, or the lead grant program depending on skill sets and interest. There are three openings currently. Minimum starting pay is $26.41/hour with excellent benefits including IPERS, health and dental insurance, paid vacation, sick leave, 10 paid holidays, life insurance, and LTD.
- Associate’s Degree in Human Services or related field
- Minimum three (3) years experience in Human Service field.
- Training or experience in case management
- Knowledge of the methods & practices of modern office procedures
- Skill in performing routine mathematical calculations with speed & accuracy
- Considerable skill in originating & maintaining thorough, accurate, & orderly records & assembling & interpreting data & preparing various reports
- Skill in maintaining effective working relationships with other employees, officials, clients, community groups, & the general public
- Skill in identifying & meeting special human & social needs of low & moderate income families
- Ability to meet & communicate effectively with the public—orally & in writing
- Ability to read, interpret & explain technical information & material relating to housing programs
- Considerable ability to work independently on responsible & confidential clerical & administrative procedures & information
- Ability to successfully complete HCV Program Management Certification Course
- Possession of a current valid driver’s license upon appointment & continued maintenance of license throughout period of employment & insurance coverage with City’s insurance company
- Must reside within 30 air miles of Muscatine city limits
