Housing Stabilization Specialist
Annual Salary: $48,317
Work Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30 am-5:00 pm
The Hampton–Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) is hiring a full-time Housing Stabilization Specialist to support individuals facing complex behavioral health and developmental challenges. This role provides a meaningful opportunity to assist people who may be experiencing homelessness, have a history of incarceration, live in group settings, or encounter repeated psychiatric hospitalizations.

Since 1971, H-NNCSB has delivered a full range of high-quality, community-based services to residents across the cities of Hampton and Newport News. We serve individuals living with mental health conditions, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders.
Through our Office of Property and Resource Development, we focus on expanding access to safe, affordable, and well-maintained housing for individuals with limited income who are impacted by these conditions.
ROLE OVERVIEW
In this position, you will work directly with individuals to assess housing needs and connect them with appropriate resources. You'll assist clients in developing personalized housing plans and guide them through the process of securing and maintaining stable housing.
You will carry a caseload and provide hands-on, housing-focused support, including in-home visits and skill-building services. Your work will help clients strengthen their independence and maintain long-term housing stability.

Qualified candidates will have:
Strong organizational and technical skills are important, including experience with documentation and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Success in this role also requires excellent communication and the ability to build effective relationships with clients, landlords, and community partners.
