    Description

    Ultralife Corporation is seeking a Plant Manager to lead our Houston, TX manufacturing facility. This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant operations, including production, warehouse, quality, engineering, supply chain, maintenance, and facilities. The successful candidate will champion a culture of safety, continuous improvement, accountability, and employee engagement while ensuring operational performance meets the highest standards.

    What You'll Do

    As Plant Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for the manufacturing facility while ensuring excellence in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Lead all aspects of plant operations to achieve operational and financial objectives.
    • Develop and execute manufacturing strategies aligned with corporate goals.
    • Promote a culture of safety through accountability, training, and continuous improvement.
    • Ensure customer expectations for quality and delivery are consistently achieved.
    • Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Operational Excellence initiatives.
    • Monitor and improve key performance indicators including safety, quality, productivity, inventory, labor efficiency, cost performance, and on-time delivery.
    • Develop and manage annual operating budgets while optimizing plant performance.
    • Partner with Global Supply Chain to ensure material availability and inventory optimization.
    • Collaborate with Engineering on new product introductions, automation, capital investments, and process improvements.
    • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities to resolve operational challenges.
    • Develop, coach, and mentor supervisors and managers while building organizational capability.
    • Foster employee engagement through effective communication, accountability, recognition, and professional development.
    • Partner with Human Resources on recruiting, succession planning, performance management, and employee relations.
    • Ensure compliance with ISO standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements.
    • Prepare and present operational performance updates to executive leadership.

    What We're Looking For

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 10 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
    • At least 5 years of experience in a Plant Manager or senior operations leadership role.
    • Experience leading cross-functional manufacturing teams in a fast-paced production environment.
    • Demonstrated success implementing Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

    Preferred Experience

    • Electronics, battery manufacturing, aerospace, defense, medical device, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
    • Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
    • Knowledge of ISO quality management systems.
    • Strong financial acumen with budgeting, forecasting, and cost management experience.
