Local Intermodal Route Driver – Class A

Looking for a Class A position that keeps you close to Houston?

This local intermodal operation offers daily home time, a consistent weekly schedule, and two consecutive days off each week. Drivers move freight between rail facilities and customer locations throughout the Houston area rather than spending multiple days out on the road.

Both day and night schedules may be available.

A LOCAL DRIVING ROUTINE

You'll operate primarily within the Houston market, moving intermodal freight in and out of area rail facilities.

Drivers typically run approximately 1,000–1,200 miles per week while returning home at the end of each shift.

Freight may include a combination of:

• Drop-and-hook
• Preloaded trailers
• Live loading and unloading
• Intermodal moves in and out of rail facilities

YOUR SCHEDULE

This account is designed around a set weekly schedule rather than an unpredictable OTR rotation.

Available schedules may include Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday, with both daytime and nighttime shifts depending on current openings.

You'll receive two consecutive days off each week.

Individual shifts can run approximately 12 hours depending on freight volume, rail activity and customer needs. Weekend or holiday work may occasionally be required based on the assigned schedule.

WEEKLY COMPENSATION

Drivers average approximately $1,000 per week, with pay issued weekly.

Actual earnings may vary depending on assigned schedule, freight volume, routes and other applicable pay factors.

WHO THIS POSITION FITS

This opportunity may be a good match for an experienced Class A driver who wants to stay local and prefers the consistency of a regular weekly schedule.

Applicants must:

• Hold a valid Class A CDL
• Have at least 6 months of recent tractor-trailer experience
• Live within approximately 30 miles of ZIP code 77020
• Be comfortable driving in and around rail facilities
• Be able to work the assigned day or night schedule
• Meet applicable DOT qualification requirements
• Be authorized to work in the United States
