Position Title: HPER Climbing Wall Student Assistant Requisition Number: H00495P Position Category: HourlyWork Study Campus Location: Weber State University - Ogden, UT Hours per week: up to 20 Months per year: 12 Alternate work schedule Pay Grade: Salary Hourly Pay Rate: $17.50 FLSA: Job Summary

Basic Function The HPHP Climbing Wall Student Assistant aids in inspection, maintenance, instruction, and events at the climbing wall. Specific duties may include:

  • Monthly and/or semi-annual inspections
  • Maintenance as needed
  • Hold cleaning and route setting
  • Assistance with special events, classes, or clinics This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time, the pool will expire, and applicants will be notified.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to top rope and lead belay
  • Ability to instruct basic climbing skills, bouldering, and top roping
  • Ability to lead indoor sport climbs
  • Ability to climb approx. 5.9V1

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to climb 5.10V3 or harder
