Client Overview:
Our client, a corporate and litigation law firm headquartered in the New York metropolitan area, is seeking a temporary HR Admin Assistant to cover a leave of absence. The firm represents both domestic and international clients in sophisticated corporate transactions, commercial litigation, securities matters, mergers & acquisitions, white collar and regulatory matters, insurance coverage and defense, and other complex legal matters.

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$27/hr

Position Overview:
The HR Admin Assistant will support day-to-day administrative, operational, and human resources functions across the firm. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys supporting both people and processes. The ideal candidate will assist with administrative coordination, office operations, recruiting support, onboarding logistics, employee engagement initiatives, and general HR administration while serving as a reliable resource to internal teams.

Responsibilities of the HR Admin Assistant:
  • Provide general administrative support to firm leadership and internal departments.
  • Coordinate meetings, calendars, conference rooms, and travel arrangements as needed.
  • Assist with office operations, vendor coordination, supply management, and facilities-related tasks.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, spreadsheets, and internal communications.
  • Support organization of firm events, trainings, and team initiatives.
  • Maintain confidential records and ensure accurate document management.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes for attorneys and staff.
  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation in compliance with firm policies.
  • Help coordinate employee referral programs, engagement initiatives, and internal communications.
  • Assist with tracking onboarding checklists and other HR administrative tasks.
  • Partner with HR and leadership teams on various operational and personnel initiatives.
Required Experience/Skills for the HR Admin Assistant:
  • 3+ years of administrative, operations, HR, or office coordination experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced professional environment.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the HR Admin Assistant:
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to take initiative.
  • Experience in a professional services or law firm environment is a plus.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and support evolving business needs.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
