This is an unpaid internship designed to provide hands-on experience in human resources within the nonprofit sector. The intern will support day-to-day HR functions and gain exposure to the full employee lifecycle.This internship may qualify for academic credit — we encourage applicants to check with their institution.QUALIFICATIONS
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program (Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Public Administration, Business Administration or related field preferred)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Interest in serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness is a plus
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with recruitment activities including posting positions, screening applications, and coordinating interviews
Support onboarding and offboarding processes for staff
Draft internal communications, HR documents, and policy summaries
Assist with planning employee engagement and recognition initiatives
Support benefits and payroll administration tasks under supervision
Perform general administrative tasks such as scheduling, filing, and data entry.
Assist with preparing materials for staff meetings and training
Handle confidential information with a high degree of professionalism and discretion
Support special projects and organizational initiatives across departments as needed
