Job Duties

The Office of the Executive Secretary of the Supreme Court of Virginia seeks an experienced administrative professional to be an integral part of the fast-paced day-to-day operations of the Department of Human Resources. This position is an immensely critical element, serving as the initial point of contact for the Human Resources Department, while providing support to the HR staff. The Human Resources Administrative Support Specialist provides a wide variety of HR support tasks and administrative duties.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Handles HR inquiries submitted through the phone, email and HR Help Desk by routing to appropriate staff

members and assisting with responses as needed.

  • Receives, processes, and maintains a variety of personnel-related documents and requests from routine to

confidential information.

  • Answers routine employee questions concerning employee benefits, procedures, and policies.
  • Creates and maintains standard operating procedures for routine HR tasks and functions.
  • Provides suggestions and ideas for improvements to business processes or practices for HR functions and/or

applications.

  • Manages and completes special projects as assigned by the Human Resources management team.
  • Performs related administrative duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

The most competitive candidates will possess:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working in an office in an administrative capacity.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work respectfully with people from diverse

backgrounds, both as customers and co-workers.

. Ability to support internal and external communications by creating digital and print materials promoting HR

programs, initiatives, and events.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in a work setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a human resources environment in an administrative capacity.
  • Experience using PeopleSoft and/or Cardinal and other HRIS systems.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
