Job Description: 

 

Summary 

The People Relations Specialist will serve as a first point of contact for employees and managers, supporting HR-related questions, employee relations cases, and administrative processes. This role focuses on case intake, documentation, and providing guidance on policies and procedures while ensuring consistent application across the organization. The position involves handling routine employee relations concerns and escalating complex matters to senior team members as needed. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Serve as the initial contact for employees and managers regarding HR inquiries, policies, and processes. 

  • Receive, document, and triage employee concerns in a case management system, ensuring timely handling and escalation as appropriate. 

  • Provide support for routine employee relations matters including low-risk performance issues, basic investigations, and non-reportable concerns. 

  • Support employee lifecycle activities such as onboarding, leave administration, time and attendance, compensation inquiries, and separations. 

  • Maintain accurate case records, documentation, and administrative updates in HR systems. 

  • Provide guidance to managers on HR processes and policy application. 

  • Assist senior HR Advisors and Managers with investigations and administrative tasks. 

  • Identify potential risks and escalate to appropriate HR partners when necessary. 

  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate empathy when handling sensitive employee matters. 

 

Required Skills & Qualifications 

  • 1–2 years of HR experience (HR Coordinator, HR Generalist, HR Operations, or related role). 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Ability to document information clearly and accurately. 

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 

  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion. 

  • Basic understanding of employment law and HR policy application. 

  • Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving ability. 

 

Preferred Experience 

  • Exposure to employee relations, investigations, or HR case management. 

  • Familiarity with HRIS or case management tools. 

  • Experience supporting a large employee population or high-volume HR environment. 

 

Work Environment 

  • Hybrid schedule: Minimum of 3 days onsite per week. 

  • Team-based environment with opportunities for collaboration and learning. 

  • Fast-paced role supporting a large and diverse employee population.
