Description:
Akima Mission Optimization (AMO) is looking for a Human Resources Staffing and Classification Program Analyst to work in Dahlgren, VA. The successful candidate will provide on-site support at NSWC Dahlgren - Dam Neck Activity (DNA), located in Dahlgren, Virginia. The candidate will support day-to-day operation for the Corporate Operations Department, Human Resources, Staffing/Classification in the area of Staffing, Classification and Recruitment efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Apply advanced knowledge of the federal hiring and onboarding process to independently support and advise the NSWCDD HR office in Dahlgren, Virginia, ensuring compliance with federal policies and organizational objectives.
- Lead and oversee staffing and hiring activities, including tracking and evaluating applicants, assessing status updates, and making judgment-based recommendations.
- Requires overseeing the use of SharePoint or other systems to manage hiring workflows and ensuring data accuracy.
- Exercise independent judgment when reviewing, interpreting, and validating employee employment records in the Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS) and oversee the processing of personnel actions for both new hires and current employees.
- Manage and administer the full lifecycle of the onboarding process, ensuring timely execution of offers, pre-employment requirements, and onboarding milestones with minimal supervision.
- Provide expert-level guidance in responding to complex employee HR inquiries related to positions, benefits, leave, pay, and policy interpretation, using discretion to resolve issues and escalate only when necessary.
- Lead the review, analysis, and validation of SF-50s for accuracy, identifying discrepancies, recommending corrective actions, and overseeing resolution to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Lead HR support for New Employee Orientation (NEO), to include planning, reviewing onboarding documentation, presenting HR materials, and ensuring alignment with organizational onboarding strategies.
Qualifications:
- Must an DoD issues Interim Secret with ability to obtain and maintain a full Secret (active Secret preferred).
- Associate degree in Human Resources or related business field, OR three (3) plus years of progressively responsible HR experience.
- Demonstrated experience in HR recruitment, onboarding, training implementation, and program management.
- Proven ability to work independently, exercise discretion, manage priorities, and make informed decisions while serving as a subject matter resource.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Customer-focused with ability to provide professional guidance and support.
Desired Qualifications:
- Federal recruitment and hiring process experience.
- Working knowledge of Navy ERP.
- DCPDS familiarity.
