Job Summary:
The HR Analyst will support payroll operations, year-end tax processes, and expatriate payroll management within a large financial institution. This role requires strong expertise in Workday reporting, payroll compliance, and data reconciliation, with a focus on accuracy, regulatory adherence, and stakeholder support.
Key Responsibilities:
Balancing all year-end tax slips and completing year-end government filings
Supporting all expatriate assignments and some globally mobile employees
Participating in both internal and external audits
Providing customized payroll and year-end tax slip support for the CEO and Senior Executive Team
Managing end-to-end Board of Directors' payrolls
Identifying, reviewing, and preparing POIs for reconciliation as needed
Reviewing and correcting taxes from the Retiree Demographic report and the US Tax Data Query
Responding to employee inquiries through ServiceNow cases
Ensuring the integrity of the Workday HR/Payroll data, including any tests or validations required
Assisting in the preparation of manual and amended tax slips
Supporting all payroll accounting year-end payroll data to ensure they are recorded and processed accurately
Recommending and implementing changes to current processes to gain efficiencies and accuracy
Managing adjustments and resolution with business partners as needed
Processing quarterly Director Fees payroll
Handling manual off-cycle processing and EIB data loads
Processing bi-weekly cheque reversals
Running and actioning Pier/Variance reports to correct data integrity errors, ensuring the accuracy of year-end tax slips
Managing daily administrative processes and functions for expatriate payroll
Supporting the processing of shadow payrolls
Balancing payroll tax slip boxes
Providing accurate and timely resolutions to inquiries from internal and external business partners
Reviewing and validating the accuracy of annual PIER reports from CRA and RQ
Perform other tasks as required
Required Experience:
3-4 years of relevant experience
Working knowledge of Workday (reporting)
3+ years of expatriate payroll experience
Strong knowledge of Canadian Federal/Provincial and U.S. regulatory and legislative requirements related to payroll (CRA, Revenu Quebec, IRS)
Experience with report reconciliation principles
