Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Human Resources Assistant Manager for a mission-driven organization committed to supporting its workforce through strong employee relations, collaboration, and organizational excellence. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity based in Los Angeles, California.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional to partner with leadership in supporting a unionized workforce while helping shape employee programs, policies, and organizational initiatives. The Human Resources Assistant Manager will play a key role in employee relations, recruitment, labor relations, compliance, and HR operations. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a collaborative, mission-focused organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with leadership to administer HR policies, employee relations programs, and organizational initiatives while ensuring compliance with employment laws and internal policies.
  • Support labor relations by assisting with collective bargaining agreement administration, grievance processes, workplace investigations, and related documentation.
  • Assist with recruitment, hiring, onboarding, compensation, benefits administration, and job classification initiatives.
  • Deliver training and guidance to supervisors on HR best practices, employee relations, and workplace policies.
  • Conduct workplace investigations, prepare reports, and recommend practical solutions to support a positive work environment.
  • Support HR projects, policy development, compliance initiatives, and other department priorities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience supporting Human Resources functions in a unionized workplace.
  • Knowledge of employee relations, labor relations, employment law, recruitment, compensation, benefits, and HR best practices.
  • Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive matters confidentially.
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience supporting nonprofit, labor, mission-driven, or membership organizations is welcomed but not required.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
