HR Assistant (Part-Time) – Manufacturing

Location: Conover, NC
Schedule: 25–30 Hours per Week (Monday–Friday)

Position Summary

We are seeking a Part-Time HR Assistant to support daily Human Resources operations in a manufacturing environment located in Conover, North Carolina. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate payroll processing, effective workers’ compensation administration, and compliant FMLA tracking, while also providing general HR and administrative support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in handling confidential employee information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process weekly or biweekly payroll accurately and on time
  • Maintain payroll records and assist employees with payroll-related questions
  • Administer workers’ compensation claims, including injury reporting and documentation coordination
  • Track and manage FMLA leave, ensuring proper documentation and compliance
  • Maintain accurate and up to date employee personnel files and HR records
  • Assist with new hire onboarding paperwork and employee documentation
  • Provide administrative support to HR, including reporting and data entry
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and employment laws
  • Support HR department operations in a fast paced manufacturing environment
Required Qualifications
  • Prior payroll processing experience required
  • Working knowledge of workers’ compensation and FMLA administration required
  • Previous HR or administrative experience (manufacturing environment preferred)
  • Experience using Paychex and/or Gusto payroll systems (preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills
Work Schedule & Flexibility
  • Part-time: 25–30 hours per week
  • Flexible schedule within standard business hours
  • Monday–Friday workweek
