The Veterans Canteen Service (VCS) at the Jefferson Barracks VA Medical Center in St. Louis, MO, is seeking a Human Resource Assistant. In this role, you will collaborate with the HR Specialist and support the Employee and Labor Relations (ER/LR) section within the Human Resources department.
DUTIES:
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
Job Postings & Advertising: Support the HR team by posting job openings and managing recruitment ads across various platforms.
Applicant Tracking & Data Management: Maintain and update job openings in the applicant tracking system (ATS) to ensure accuracy.
Hiring Manager Support: Assist managers with recruiting tools and processes to streamline hiring efforts.
Career Fairs & Recruiting Events: Coordinate and participate in job fairs and other hiring events to attract top talent.
Background Checks & Verification: Handle administrative tasks, including background checks and reference verifications.
Reports & Presentations: Create reports, letters, and presentations using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Additional Responsibilities & Flexibility: Perform and adapt to additional responsibilities as needed.

Experience & Qualifications: A minimum of one year of recruiting experience is required. The ideal candidate will possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the responsibilities of this role.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in operating computer systems, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Time Management & Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
