Position Summary
Carlile is seeking a strategic and hands-on Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support our Anchorage-based operations and regional teams. This role partners closely with leaders to align people strategies with business goals , enhance employee engagement, and drive organizational performance in a dynamic, fast-paced logistics environment.
The ideal candidate is comfortable balancing strategic initiatives and day-to-day HR execution , with strong experience in employee relations, leadership coaching, and compliance .
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Partnership
Partner with operations and functional leaders to develop and execute HR strategies aligned with business objectives
Provide guidance on organizational design, workforce planning, and change management
Act as a trusted advisor and coach to leaders at all levels
Employee Relations & Engagement
Lead and manage employee relations matters , including investigations and conflict resolution
Ensure fair, consistent, and compliant HR practices
Foster a positive, inclusive, and safety-first workplace culture
Talent & Performance Management
Support performance management processes , including coaching and development planning
Partner on talent acquisition, onboarding, and retention strategies
Drive succession planning and leadership development initiatives
Compliance & HR Operations
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
Support policies and practices aligned with a transportation/logistics environment
Partner with leadership in union or non-union environments as applicable
Data & Insights
Analyze HR metrics including turnover, retention, and engagement
Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to improve workforce outcomes
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in human resources , Business Administration, or related field
5+ years of progressive HR experience (HR Generalist, HRBP, or similar role)
Strong knowledge of employee relations, employment law, and HR best practices
Experience supporting operations, logistics, transportation, or industrial environments
Preferred
Experience in trucking, supply chain, or Alaska-based logistics operations
Exposure to unionized environments
HR certification ( SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR )
Experience supporting multi-site or geographically dispersed teams
