    Position Summary

A global food manufacturing organization is seeking a Human Resources Generalist / HR Business Partner to support its manufacturing facility in Penn Yan, NY.

This is a hands-on, highly visible HR role supporting an hourly workforce in a 24/7 production environment. The position will partner closely with supervisors, managers, and employees on employee relations, coaching, corrective action, investigations, performance management, attendance, onboarding, and day-to-day HR needs.

The ideal candidate enjoys being out on the production floor, building relationships with employees and leaders, and solving real-time people challenges. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who wants broad HR ownership and meaningful employee relations experience rather than a desk-focused administrative role.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Serve as a visible, approachable HR resource for hourly employees, supervisors, and managers across the manufacturing facility
    • Manage employee relations matters including coaching, corrective action, investigations, performance improvement plans, attendance issues, and separations
    • Partner with managers to ensure consistent documentation and application of HR policies and employment practices
    • Support onboarding, orientation, new-hire documentation, I-9s, E-Verify, and employee record maintenance
    • Assist with benefits documentation, medical records, employee files, and other confidential HR information
    • Review employee time punches and hours to support accurate weekly payroll preparation
    • Coordinate employee engagement activities, communications, meetings, and company-sponsored events
    • Partner with recruiting, training, safety, and operations teams on workforce initiatives and employee needs
    • Maintain compliance with applicable employment laws, policies, and HR procedures

    Required Qualifications

    • 3+ years of progressive Human Resources experience with a bachelor's degree, or approximately 5+ years with an associate degree
    • Experience directly supporting an hourly workforce
    • Strong employee relations experience, including corrective action, coaching, investigations, PIPs, and terminations
    • Experience partnering directly with frontline supervisors and managers on employee issues
    • Comfortable working onsite and maintaining a visible presence on the production floor
    • Working knowledge of employment regulations including FMLA, FLSA, ADA, EEO, and related requirements
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, judgment, and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee information
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using HRIS systems
    • Ability to work onsite five days per week in Penn Yan, NY

    Preferred Backgrounds

    • Manufacturing, food manufacturing, production, distribution, warehouse, or other hourly workforce environments
    • HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, Employee Relations Specialist, HR Representative, or Human Resources Specialist experience
    • New York employment law experience
    • UKG, ADP, Workday, or comparable HRIS experience
    • SHRM-CP or PHR certification
    • Employee engagement, succession planning, or high-potential employee development programs

    Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR professional who enjoys being close to the workforce and building trust with employees and supervisors.

You'll be comfortable walking the production floor, handling challenging employee relations situations, coaching managers through difficult conversations, and balancing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.

This is not a remote or primarily administrative HR position. The right person will want to be onsite, visible, approachable, and actively involved in the day-to-day employee experience.

    Why This Opportunity

    • Broad HR role with significant ownership and visibility within the facility
    • Opportunity to build deep employee relations and HR business partnering experience
    • Work directly with operations leaders and an hourly manufacturing workforce
    • Monday–Friday schedule within a stable global manufacturing organization
    • Competitive base compensation plus 7%–10.5% annual bonus opportunity
    • Strong benefits and employee development programs
    • Collaborative local HR team with close partnerships across recruiting, training, safety, and operations
    • Excellent opportunity for an HR Generalist ready to expand into a true HR Business Partner-level role
