Job Title:  HR Clerk

Duration: Contract (3 + Months)

Payrate: $25.00 hour on W2 Without Benefits

Mode: Onsite

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday

 

Job Description:

  • Is seeking a temporary clerical office employee to support our team with front desk/customer service coverage and a Compensation project.
  • We are looking for someone who is highly detail-oriented, patient, organized, dependable, and comfortable working with documents and confidential information.
  • Strong Microsoft Word skills are particularly important for this assignment.
  • Provide front desk coverage, greet and assist visitors, answer and route calls, and respond to general inquiries.
  • Provide general clerical and administrative support to the PWC team.
  • Assist Compensation with formatting and updating job descriptions using established SLCC standards.
  • Update required HB 261 language and ability statements within job descriptions.
  • Review job descriptions to ensure percentage allocations are included and accurate.
  • Proofread documents for consistency, completeness, grammar, and formatting.
  • Track completed job descriptions and flag items requiring additional Compensation review.
  • This role requires someone who can provide warm, professional customer service while also having the patience and attention to detail necessary to work through a high volume of job descriptions accurately and consistently.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Front Desk & Customer Service Support- 50%
    Serve as a welcoming first point of contact for employees, applicants, students, visitors, and other individuals contacting People & Workplace Culture.
  • Greet visitors and assist with general questions or direct individuals to the appropriate PWC team member or resource.
  • Answer and route telephone calls and respond to routine inquiries.
  • Monitor and assist with general PWC correspondence and requests as assigned.
  • Provide clerical support including scanning, filing, copying, document preparation, data entry, and electronic record organization.
  • Receive, organize, and appropriately route documents and other materials.
  • Assist individuals with navigating routine PWC processes while providing patient and courteous customer service.
  • Maintain confidentiality when working with employee, applicant, compensation, and other sensitive information.
  • Provide general administrative support to PWC staff and assist with special projects as assigned.

 

Project Support- 50%;

  • Assist the Compensation team with reviewing, formatting, and updating College job descriptions.
  • Format job descriptions using established SLCC templates and standards to create consistency across documents.
  • Review job descriptions to ensure required sections and information are present.
  • Update job descriptions with current HB 261-compliant language as directed by PWC.
  • Add or update required ability statements within job descriptions.
  • Review essential functions to ensure appropriate percentage allocations are included and totals are accurate.
  • Identify missing, inconsistent, outdated, or unclear information and flag items requiring Compensation staff review.
  • Proofread job descriptions for spelling, grammar, formatting, consistency, and completeness.
  • Maintain organized electronic files and accurately track job descriptions that have been reviewed, updated, completed, or require additional action.
  • Perform document cleanup and other administrative Compensation projects as assigned.
  • Follow established instructions carefully and maintain consistency when processing a high volume of documents.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated clerical, administrative, office, or customer service experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong proofreading and document-formatting skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook; ability to learn additional systems and processes quickly.
  • Ability to organize and manage electronic documents and files.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and apply established standards consistently.
  • Ability to perform repetitive, detail-intensive work with patience and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage interruptions and shift between front desk responsibilities and project-based work.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in Human Resources, higher education, or a professional office environment.
  • Experience formatting or proofreading job descriptions, policies, procedures, or other business documents.
  • Intermediate or advanced Microsoft Word skills, including formatting, styles, tables, headers/footers, and document cleanup.
  • Experience working with confidential employee or personnel information.
