This is the intermediate level of the HR Consulting classification hierarchy. Employees at this level solve more complex problems, in human resource areas of specialization, with general supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with greater independence. They effectively apply fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is fairly complex and varied.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in HR or relevant major and 1 year of experience
• Duke Energy internship or co-op experience
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to deal effectively with all levels of employees and management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills required to analyze complex issues, develop logical conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
• Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and display effective negotiating skills when dealing with diverse customer expectations.
• Demonstrated presentation skills and ability to facilitate large/small groups in an effective manner.
• Performs work in normal office environment
• Position may be located at a generating plant, regional office, etc.
• May be required to travel to other locations.
• A relevant master’s degree can be considered in lieu of bachelor’s degree and one year of experience.
• Duke Energy internship or co-op experience.
