Job Title: HR Consultant
Location: Stamford, CT - Remote Role 
Duration: 6 months w/ possible extensions

Must Have Experience/Skills:
  • 5+ years of Talent Management background
  • Project management
  • Data and talent calibration
  • 2+ years of HR Business Partner experience
  • Financial services experience preferred
Job Description:
  • As the HR Consultant, Talent & Program Management - Technology, you’ll plan, execute, and manage talent management activities for the Technology function and manage key processes for Technology, including centralized Immigration tracking, Headcount reconciliation, and the central calendar for the Tech HR team for all talent-related activities. This position is a member of the Tech HR Leadership Team and partners cross-functionally with the Talent Management & Learning organization to drive career development and talent assessment at all levels. You will collaborate with stakeholders to drive strong talent management strategies that support employees in their unique career journeys, support an inclusive culture and positive employee experience, and help create operating discipline across the Tech HR team by coordinating staff meeting rhythms, tracking key priorities and deliverables, and ensuring the team stays aligned on commitments, follow-ups, and business-critical talent work.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Partner with leaders and HR colleagues to develop, manage, and implement impactful talent management and engagement solutions that support Synchrony’s culture and champion diversity and flexibility.
  • Act as a trusted business consultant to the Tech leadership team, performing talent needs assessments and bringing solutions and strategies that meet talent needs.
  • Own and manage the design and administration of programs that grow Tech talent and career development unique to each level of the function.
  • Consult with Tech leaders and HR colleagues to assess and calibrate talent, providing solutions to support strong talent pipelines and performance management rigor.
  • Lead people analytics across the Tech function by designing and managing dashboards, leveraging data to identify themes, presenting compelling business stories, and making recommendations to support strong talent management.
  • Help manage the Tech HR team operating rhythm, including staff meeting agendas, materials, follow-ups, and action item tracking to keep the team aligned on priorities, deliverables, and decision points.
  • Maintain visibility to key Tech HR deliverables, talent milestones, and calendar-driven activities; proactively identify dependencies, risks, or gaps and partner with HR colleagues to drive timely execution.
  • Support preparation for talent reviews, calibration discussions, succession planning, and leadership updates by coordinating inputs, consolidating materials, and ensuring clear next steps are captured and followed through.
  • Partner with the Tech HR team to strengthen operational excellence across recurring people processes, including headcount reconciliation, immigration tracking, talent calendar management, performance management milestones, and engagement priorities.
  • Create clear summaries, presentations, and communications that help translate talent data, priorities, and decisions into actionable updates for HR leaders, Tech stakeholders, and cross-functional partners.
  • Lead other initiatives or projects as assigned.
 
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or, in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma and 6+ years of HR experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of increasing experience in Human Resources.
  • Minimum 4 years of project management experience.
  • Experience as an effective consultant and business partner supporting executive-level clients, exempt and non-exempt employees.
  • Strong skills in building relationships with various levels in an organization.
  • Experience partnering with a geographically diverse, matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated strength in compiling, analyzing, and presenting data.
  • Experience supporting talent management processes, including talent reviews, calibration, succession planning, career development, engagement initiatives, and performance management milestones.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects, recurring operating rhythms, meeting agendas, action items, and cross-functional deliverables with strong follow-through.
  • Ability to synthesize information from multiple stakeholders and create clear presentations, summaries, and communications for HR leaders and business partners.
  • Experience managing or supporting HR operational processes such as headcount reconciliation, immigration tracking, talent calendars, or other people-process governance preferred.
  • Curious about AI-related tools and demonstrated experience using them to improve productivity, streamline work, synthesize information, or create effective outputs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive HR processes and deliver high-quality HR services in a fast-paced, high-change environment.
