CSS supports MITs education and research mission by managing the Institutes built environment, including design, construction, maintenance, operations, and sustainability. With more than 800 employees across trades, operations, and administrative roles, CSS maintains 205 buildings, 20 residence halls, and 13.9 million square feet of space, ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable operations.
The CSS Human Resources team advances this work through people-centered, service-driven support, promoting operational excellence, leadership readiness, employee engagement, and equitable HR practices while ensuring compliance with Institute policies and collective bargaining agreements.
