Primary Function:

Under direct supervision of the Executive Vice President of Human Resources, this position performs Human Resources related duties and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: Onboarding, training, compliance and employment equity programs. Performs all duties within the objectives, standards, and policies of Willis Automotive.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides administrative support to Human Resources function as needed, including record keeping, file maintenance, HRIS maintenance and administration.
  • Schedules pre-employment tests and checks and organizes employee onboarding for all positions. Sets up all new employees in the HRIS.
  • Conducts new employee orientations to ensure employees gain an understanding of policies, procedures and benefit options. Process all onboarding data and documentation (E-Verify, compensation, tax information, direct deposit.)
  • Acts as a resource for Payroll/HR contacts to ensure their understanding and compliance with benefit and HR policies and regulations. Keeps management advised of potential problem areas and recommends/implements solutions as appropriate.
  • Handle all VOE inquires upon request
  • Conduct all exit interviews after an employee leaves their notice
  • Prepares government reports related to EEO compliance and other HR functions.
  • Writes, revises, edits and proofreads company policies and procedures and related documents as needed. Maintains HRIS to share information with all employees electronically.
  • Assists in organizational training and development efforts.
  • Make sure each new hire has proper uniform per positions
  • Coordinates employee events/company outings and community involvement campaigns including United Way. Participates on organization committees as required by HR Director.
  • All other duties as assigned

What we need from you:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; two-year degree and two years related experience required in lieu of education.
  • Two years of experience in a human resources position, recruiting experience highly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents
  • Ability to communicate effectively to all levels within the organization
  • Ability to keep current on employment laws and regulations
