HR Coordinator

Location: Northridge, CA (100% Onsite)
Schedule: Monday Friday | 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: Up to $35/hour DOE
Assignment: 6-Month Contract with High Potential to Extend or Convert to Full-Time

Role Summary

Our client, a global leader in pharmaceutical and drug delivery manufacturing, is seeking an organized and detail-oriented HR Coordinator to support Human Resources operations at their 400+ employee manufacturing facility in Northridge, CA.

This position plays a critical role in supporting the employee lifecycle, maintaining HR records, coordinating recruiting and onboarding activities, assisting with payroll and benefits administration, and ensuring compliance with California employment laws and company policies. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, maintains strict confidentiality, and enjoys providing exceptional support to employees and managers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily HR operations, including onboarding, offboarding, promotions, transfers, and employee status changes.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data (Dayforce preferred).
  • Process personnel transactions and ensure timely documentation.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, payroll, and company programs.
  • Coordinate recruiting activities, including interview scheduling, candidate communication, and onboarding logistics.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation and ensure completion of employment documentation, including I-9s and background checks.
  • Maintain employee files, job descriptions, and HR documentation in compliance with California labor laws and company standards.
  • Process Employment Development Department (EDD) requests and support internal and external HR audits.
  • Assist with leave administration, accommodations, and required compliance reporting.
  • Provide administrative support for payroll, timekeeping, and employee benefits.
  • Maintain employee work schedules within Dayforce and process payroll-related updates.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, internal communications, bulletin boards, digital displays, and company culture programs.
  • Assist HR leadership with employee relations documentation, investigations, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
  • Coordinate termination notifications and offboarding activities while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • 2 5 years of Human Resources Coordinator or HR Administrative experience.
  • Experience supporting HR functions within a manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or operations environment preferred.
  • Experience supporting employee populations of 200+ employees preferred.
  • Working knowledge of California employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience using HRIS systems such as Dayforce, Workday, ADP, or similar.
  • Experience supporting payroll, benefits administration, onboarding, and employee records.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Dayforce experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment is a plus.
