Summary: 

 

The HR Data Specialist is responsible for executing employee data transactions, maintaining accurate HR records, and supporting efficient HR operations through standardized processes. This position serves as the primary point of entry for all employee lifecycle transactions including new hires, promotions, transfers, terminations, and status changes across all business units. The HR Data Specialist works closely with HR Business Partners and the broader HR team to maintain data integrity, support employee inquiries, and assist with process improvements to enhance operational efficiency. This is a key role in ensuring high-quality data entry, identifying discrepancies, and supporting efforts to streamline and improve HR processes. Strict confidentiality and exceptional attention to detail are essential requirements of this role. This role is a hybrid role based out of our Overland Park, KS office. This role will follow the Overland Park, KS "in office" policy, which at this point in time is 3 days per week. 

 

What you’ll be contributing: 

 

  • Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines. 
  • Enter and maintain all employee lifecycle transactions in HRIS System(s) (new hires, terminations, rehires, promotions, transfers, status and pay changes, etc.) as submitted by HR team / managers with proper approvals
  • Maintain accuracy and completeness of employee records and ensure timely updates
  • Manage and resolve assigned tickets with established service level agreements (SLAs), ensuring timely and accurate completion
  • Support onboarding and offboarding activities with a focus on data accuracy and process completion
  • Conduct routine audits to identify data discrepancies and endure compliance with established standards
  • Assist with corrections, mass updates, and system transactions
  • Follow standardized processes and contribute to maintaining documentation and SOPs
  • Work closely with HR team and HR Business Partners to resolve data discrepancies and ensure records are aligned with current employee status
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and escalate ideas to leadership
  • Generate, validate, and reconcile reports to ensure data accuracy as needed
  • Support HR initiatives such as open enrollment, compliance audits, and system updates
  • Maintain confidentiality of all employee data and sensitive HR information at all times and ensure compliance with company policies, governance standards and regulatory requirements
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.  

  

To succeed in this position, you will need:

 

  • Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc. 
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 1 year of expeiernce in data entry or HRIS expereince required. 
  • UKG expereince strongly preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy – this is a critical requirement
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive employee information at all times
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage high volumes of data transactions
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision following established procedures
  • Customer service mindset with strong responsiveness and professionalism
  • Basic analytical skills with ability to identify inconsistencies or errors and escalate in a timely manner
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy
  • Working knowledge of HR processes and employee lifecycle transactions
  • Willingness to learn new systems, tools, and process improvements
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work productively in a remote environment while collaborating as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
