Accentuate Staffing is seeking an experienced and strategic Human Resources Director to lead all HR functions for one of our clients in Clayton NC.  This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving HR strategy while overseeing daily HR operations in a fast-paced manufacturing and industrial environment.

The HR Director will serve as a trusted business partner to executive leadership and collaborate closely with senior HR leadership to support workforce planning, organizational development, compliance initiatives, benefits strategy, employee engagement, and operational excellence. This position will oversee talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, payroll, safety, workers’ compensation, training and development, and HR compliance across multiple business entities.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR leader with strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of employment law and HR best practices, and experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or multi-site operations.

 
 
 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with company objectives and operational goals
  • Partner with executive leadership on workforce planning and organizational initiatives
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, retention, succession planning, and performance management efforts
  • Recruit Supervisors, Managers, and administrative support staff
  • Oversee employee relations, conflict resolution, and workplace culture initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures
  • Support audit readiness, reporting, and compliance documentation
  • Oversee compensation, benefits administration, benefits renewals, and vendor relationships
  • Manage leadership development, employee training, and continuous learning initiatives
  • Oversee bi-weekly payroll processing and audit time and attendance records
  • Oversee the Safety Manager and Workers’ Compensation administration
  • Participate in accident investigations, safety meetings, and legal/employment claim management
  • Manage HR systems, reporting, departmental budgets, and operational performance
  • Provide HR reporting and strategic recommendations to executive leadership
  • Directly oversee the SCH HR Manager, Safety Manager, and HR Associate

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 8–12+ years of progressive HR experience with leadership responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, compliance, and HR best practices
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or multi-site environments preferred
  • HR certification such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR is a plus
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information professionally
  • Strong problem-solving and employee relations experience
  • Proficiency with HR systems, reporting, payroll, and workforce analytics
  • Occasional travel to Structural Coatings Hertford (SCH) required
