Northbay Recruiter is partnering with a well-established company with local roots, in search of an experienced Human Resources professional. This role will  serve as a strategic business partner to leadership while providing hands-on support across all areas of Human Resources. This individual will help drive employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, talent development, compliance, and workforce planning while partnering closely with managers to support business objectives.

The ideal candidate is a proactive HR leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex employee relations matters, and uses data to influence business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with managers and leadership to provide strategic HR guidance aligned with organizational goals.
  • Analyze workforce metrics including turnover, retention, attendance, overtime, and staffing trends to identify opportunities and support business decisions.
  • Develop recommendations based on HR analytics and communicate workforce insights to leadership.
  • Lead employee engagement, retention, and culture initiatives.
  • Support workforce planning, succession planning, and employee development strategies.
  • Manage complex employee relations matters while minimizing organizational risk.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and document findings while ensuring legal compliance and confidentiality.
  • Coach managers on performance management, employee development, corrective action, promotions, and terminations.
  • Provide guidance on HR policies, employment law, compliance, and best practices.
  • Partner with leadership to identify training needs and coordinate employee development programs.
  • Monitor training effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with department leaders to review workforce initiatives and address organizational needs.
  • Develop and communicate HR policies, procedures, and employee communications.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and operational efficiency.
  • Support full-cycle recruiting including interviewing, onboarding, internal transfers, and new hire integration.
  • Partner with managers to ensure successful onboarding and performance evaluations for new employees.
  • Coordinate safety initiatives including workers' compensation administration, accident investigations, compliance activities, and safety programs.
  • Lead HR projects and organizational initiatives while effectively managing timelines and stakeholders.
  • Support organizational change initiatives and help leaders successfully navigate change.
  • Foster a collaborative, positive, and employee-focused workplace culture.
  • Provide operational HR support in areas including:
    • Time & Attendance
    • Workers' Compensation
    • Leave Administration
    • Employee Benefits
    • Open Enrollment
    • Employee Engagement Programs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or supporting field.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or equivalent HR certification.
  • Five or more years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex employee relations matters and workplace investigations.
  • Strong working knowledge of California employment law and HR best practices.
  • Experience partnering with leadership in a strategic HR Business Partner or Senior HR Generalist capacity.
  • Experience supporting organizational change, performance management, and employee development initiatives. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret HR metrics. 
  • Experience presenting workforce data and recommendations to leadership.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish Highly preferred but not required
