Summary:
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic HR Generalist needed for a temporary position.
- Opportunity to manage competing priorities and gain various HR skills.
Responsibilities:
- Process completed on-boarding documentation and disburse to appropriate parties, including payroll and retirement departments.
- Monitor employee leave requests and provide information to the Office of Leave Planning Assistance in accordance with regulations and agreements.
- Track and monitor family medical leave requests, approved family medical leaves, and workers' compensation leaves.
- Conduct internal projects and information requests involving personnel information analysis.
- Provide quality customer service by researching employment records to provide accurate responses.
- Maintain confidentiality of personnel information by following company policies.
- Draft internal and external communications, including letters and memorandums.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong business writing skills.
- Proficiency in Access, Excel, and Word.
- Human Resources Professional Certification is a plus.
- General knowledge of HR policies and processes in a large organization.
- Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working in a unionized environment.
- Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations governing the state personnel system.
- Knowledge of compensation and salary setting rules within HR guidelines.
- General knowledge of state and federal benefit and leave policies.
