FULL DESCRIPTION: Assists the HR Director in all areas of Human Resources, including employee relations, leaves of absence, and workers' compensation administration. Serves as the first point of contact for HR-related inquiries from employees and external partners. Responsibilities include maintaining personnel records, managing HR documentation, supporting recruitment and onboarding, and providing guidance on HR policies and procedures.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
Recruiting & Onboarding
- Schedule interviews and coordinate pre-employment screenings, including physicals, drug tests, and background checks.
- Prepare and distribute offer letters and new hire packets.
- Conduct new hire orientations, ensuring employees understand company policies, benefits, and procedures.
Employee Relations
- Serve as a resource to employees and supervisors on workplace policies and employee concerns.
- Assist in resolving employee relations matters in collaboration with the HR Director, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive employee information.
Leaves of Absence & Worker's Compensation
- Coordinate all leaves of absence, including FMLA, CFRA, and other statutory or company leaves.
- Administer and track worker's compensation claims, liaising with insurance carriers and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Communicate with employees and supervisors regarding return-to-work status and accommodations.
Payroll & Additional Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the HR department and business needs.
- Serve as back-up for payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payroll submissions.
Records Management & Compliance
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel files and HR databases.
- Process employee changes such as promotions, transfers, and separations.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws, including I-9 documentation and record retention.
The selected candidate will also possess:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 1-2 years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven knowledge of HR procedures, labor laws, and recordkeeping requirements.
- Experience with HRIS systems (ADP Vantage preferred).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and discretion in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of motivation, professionalism, and interpersonal tact.
Salary Range: $80-100k/year
