Job Summary/Objective:
The Human Resources Generalist – Employee Relations serves as Summit Pointe's primary resource for employee relations, performance management, workplace investigations, employee engagement, and policy administration. This position partners closely with leaders to foster a respectful, accountable, and high-performing workplace culture while ensuring compliance with employment laws, organizational policies, and applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements. The HR Generalist provides consultation and coaching to Leaders regarding employee performance, conflict resolution, investigations, corrective action, policy interpretation, and leadership best practices. This role is responsible for promoting consistent employment practices, mitigating organizational risk, enhancing employee engagement, and supporting organizational effectiveness through proactive employee relations strategies. Working collaboratively with the Chief People Officer, HR Recruitment Generalist, Benefits Manager, and HR Analyst & Credentialing Specialist, this position supports the organization's strategic workforce objectives while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and customer service.
Essential Duties and Functions:
- Serve as the primary Human Resources partner for employee relations, providing consultation and guidance to leaders on performance management, employee concerns, workplace conduct, and policy interpretation.
- Lead employee relations activities, including conflict resolution, workplace mediation, corrective action guidance, and resolution of employee concerns while ensuring consistency, fairness, and compliance.
- Conduct timely and objective workplace investigations, prepare findings and recommendations, and partner with leadership and legal counsel on complex employee relations matters.
- Administer the organization's performance management process by coaching leaders, supporting performance improvement plans, monitoring performance evaluations, and strengthening leadership accountability.
- Develop and implement employee engagement and retention initiatives, including employee surveys, engagement action planning, recognition programs, and exit interview analysis.
- Interpret, administer, and recommend improvements to Human Resources policies, procedures, and employment practices while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Collective Bargaining Agreements.
- Build collaborative relationships with leaders by providing strategic coaching, Human Resources consultation, and change management support to promote a positive, high-performing workplace culture.
- Analyze employee relations metrics and trends, prepare reports for leadership, and recommend continuous improvement initiatives that enhance organizational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with the Chief People Officer and Human Resources team to support organizational goals, workforce initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- PHR or SCHRM certification preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources experience with significant employee relations responsibilities.
- Experience conducting workplace investigations and preparing investigative findings, managing performance and corrective action.
- Experience in Public sector, nonprofit or mental health is preferred
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices and Collective Bargaining Agreements.
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, nonprofit, or public sector environments preferred
