HR Generalist
Location: Gary, IN (100% onsite daily)
Salary: $49,750 - $53,650
About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support a growing organization by managing a variety of human resources functions. This role will partner with leadership and employees to ensure effective HR operations, compliance, employee engagement, and talent management initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a resource for employee relations, policy interpretation, and performance management
- Support recruiting efforts, including sourcing, interviewing, onboarding, and new hire orientation
- Assist with benefits administration, leave management, and employee records maintenance
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, company policies, and HR best practices
- Coordinate training, employee engagement, and retention initiatives
- Maintain HRIS records and generate reports as needed
- Support disciplinary actions, investigations, and employee coaching efforts
- Partner with managers on staffing, workforce planning, and employee development
Qualifications
- Previous HR Generalist experience required
- Knowledge of employee relations, employment laws, benefits, and HR compliance
- Experience with recruiting, onboarding, and performance management
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred
