Salary Range: $53,000 - $80,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Grand Rapids region seeking HR Generalists. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidates-not just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance management, and offboarding for factory personnel.
  • Administers payroll and benefits programs, ensuring compliance and accurate record-keeping for manufacturing employees.
  • Supports employee relations by addressing grievances, conducting investigations, and mediating disputes within the plant.
  • Develops and implements HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with labor laws and company standards in a manufacturing setting.
  • Facilitates recruitment and selection processes for production and operational roles, from job posting to offer extension.
  • Conducts HR training sessions for supervisors and employees on topics such as safety, compliance, and professional development relevant to manufacturing.
  • Maintains HR information systems (HRIS) and employee records, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality for all factory staff.
Recommended Qualifications
  • 3+ years of HR Generalist experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state labor laws, with an emphasis on those relevant to manufacturing (e.g., OSHA, FMLA, FLSA).
  • Proven ability to manage full-cycle recruitment for a variety of manufacturing roles (e.g., production, maintenance, quality).
  • Experience with HRIS systems and their application in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of employee relations and conflict resolution within a plant environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Bonus Qualifications
  • Experience with HRIS implementation or optimization projects
  • Demonstrated ability to drive employee engagement initiatives within a manufacturing setting
  • Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
  • Proficiency in data analytics and HR metrics reporting
