Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist / HR Manager to support and manage day-to-day HR operations. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing a wide range of HR responsibilities in a small to mid-sized organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle HR operations including onboarding and offboarding processes
- Process and manage payroll accurately and in a timely manner
- Administer employee benefits (health, dental, vision, etc.)
- Maintain and update employee records and HR documentation
- Ensure compliance with federal, state (California), and local labor laws
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and HR-related issues
- Support performance management and employee relations as needed
- Assist with recruiting efforts, including job postings and interview coordination
- Communicate and coordinate with internal stakeholders in both English and Japanese
- Collaborate with management to improve HR processes and workplace practices
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in Human Resources
- Japanese-English bilingual (required)
- Hands-on experience with payroll processing (required)
- Strong knowledge of HR operations including onboarding, offboarding, and compliance
- Familiarity with California labor laws preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working in a small or mid-sized company preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is a plus, but not required
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary: $60,000–$75,000 (DOE)
