HR Generalist (Leave and Benefits)

Prominent company in the Saratoga Springs market is looking for an HR Specialist to help manage their benefits and leave programs.  This role would focus primarily on leave administration which would include NYSPFL, FMLA, and ADA compliance.  Our client is offering a vibrant and collaborative work environment, competitive compensation and benefits programs, and significant room for growth.  Fantastic opportunity for someone that is looking to grow as an HR professional in an fun and fast-paced environment. 

Responsibilities will include:

• Work closely with employees and management on compliant NYSPFL and FMLA leave administration
• Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations and compliance
• Responsible for communicating with management to determine reasonable accommodations
• Oversee workers compensation claims, manage employee communication
• Communicate with employees to explain their leave options, keep them posted on their status, and provide follow up and any necessary next steps
• Collect and review medical documentation and supporting paper work
• Work with payroll and the employees to manage any hires, terminations, and changes in employee files
• Support the company's health & wellness initiatives

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
• 2+ years of experience in an HR or Benefits Specialist role
• Experience with FMLA, NYS Paid Family Leave, ADA, and workers compensation required
• Understanding of state and federal labor laws
• Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel and Word, and HRIS software
