M-F 8:30am-5:00pm - Hybrid work schedule
Salary: $28.84 - $31.25 per hour

SHIELDS' mission is to develop, deliver and evaluate culturally sensitive, comprehensive service models that empower and advocate for high-risk families in South Los Angeles.
The Human Resources Generalist manages multiple HR functions including:
• Leave of absence and ADA accommodations • Workers' compensation • Benefits and COBRA administration • HR compliance • Personnel action forms (PAFs) • HRIS data entry and verification • Employment verifications • Benefits orientation • Payroll and benefits billing coordination • OSHA and workers' compensation reporting • Compensation and benefits surveys
The Generalist maintains job descriptions, tracks licenses and employee bonus programs, supports policy development and continuous process improvement, and ensures compliance with all federal and state employment laws while partnering with leadership and finance to support organizational goals.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are required, along with dependability, professionalism, and a commitment to safety and compliance.
Requirements:
• Working knowledge of HR principles and practices • Strong computer skills • Experience using an HRIS system is required • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related field with 3-5 years of HR experience, 7 years of HR generalist experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required • PHR certification is preferred
