Blue Mango Management is a restaurant management group that oversees and operates Novo Restaurant, Luna Red Restaurant, Robin's Restaurant, a forthcoming cafe, as well as a commissary kitchen. We are currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist and Office Manager to join our team! This is a full time, non-exempt position with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. This role assists with the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, training, payroll, benefits, leave administration, employee relations, compliance, and HR systems. The position also supports Novo's daily administrative operations, helping ensure efficient office functions and providing administrative support to restaurant leadership.This position serves as a resource for employees and managers, maintains accurate and confidential records, and helps ensure compliance with company policies and employment laws. route anything of concern, sensitive, or complex to DOO as appropriateCoordinate employee separations and terminations, including preparing documentation, final paperwork, and exit processes in partnership with the DOO and managementMaintain accurate and confidential employee relations documentationSupport managers with employee performance and disciplinary processes by coordinating documentation, tracking follow up actions, and escalating concerns as appropriateCoordinate employee recognition, appreciation, and milestone celebrations, including birthdays, anniversaries, and company eventsRecruitment & OnboardingCoordinate recruitment activities from job posting, screening, interviewing, through onboardingPost and maintain job openings across recruitment platformsScreen candidates, coordinate interviews, and prepare offer paperworkSupport managers throughout the hiring process to meet staffing needsCoordinate a smooth onboarding experience for new hires, including orientation, employee setup, and onboarding documentationMaintain applicant and new hire records and ensure onboarding documentation is completeTraining & Development SupportCoordinate employee onboarding and required training programsTrack required training completion and follow up on outstanding requirementsMaintain training materials, resources, and learning management system (LMS) contentSupport the implementation of operational and job specific training programsCoordinate performance review scheduling and appraisal trackingPayroll, Benefits & CompensationProcess bi-weekly payroll and related payroll transactionsReview and audit employee timecards, meal and rest breaks, tips, and payroll adjustmentsAdminister employee benefits, healthcare eligibility, CalSavers, and PTO balancesCoordinate leave administration, including FMLA, CFRA, PFL, and disability, and maintain related documentationCoordinate workers' compensation claims with employees, medical providers, and insurance carriers as needed.Respond to payroll inquiries and prepare agency correspondence, including wage verifications and responses to state agencies as neededAdminister annual Open EnrollmentRespond to routine employee benefits questionsAssist with compensation benchmarking and reportingNovo Office AdministrationProvide administrative support for Novo operations, including culinary, finance, marketing, and management teamsCoordinate banking activities, cash administration, reimbursements, and other routine office functionsMaintain office supplies, printed menus/materials, HR forms, and operational resourcesCommunicate and count/ manage inventory and supply orders for the restaurants: office supplies, marketing collateral, smallwares, equipment parts, glassware, plates, and silverware across all locations, communicate needs to appropriate departmentExecute food + beverage menu change updates at Novo: design, edits, printing, page changeouts, POS updates, and third-party updates; provide marketing with information and files for websites, promotionsMaintain recipe organization, update food product guides, server sheets, and other operational documentationProcess donation and gift certificate requestsReview discounts, voids, chargebacks, tip adjustments, and other administrative transactions; communicate discrepancies to appropriate leadershipTrack business licenses and permits (business, health, ABC, fire, CUPA, etc.) and health inspection calendarServe as the administrative point of contact for guest incidents and general liability claimsTroubleshoot POS, printer, computers, ipads, internet, software issues and communicate issues with our vendorsMaintain employee merchandise and aprons and facilitate holiday gift orderingMaintain a clean, organized, and well stocked office environmentSupport additional administrative and operational projects as assignedRequired Skills/Abilities:Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environmentDemonstrated integrity, professionalism, sound judgment, and exceptional discretion when handling confidential employee and business informationStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships at all levels of the organizationSolution oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills;
