Position Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations across the company. This role will focus heavily on employee support, onboarding/offboarding, HR administration, compliance coordination, policy implementation, and maintaining organized HR processes as the company grows.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys operational HR, process management, and create and maintain systems. Bancroft has a dedicated full-time recruiting function.
The ideal candidate will have strong working knowledge of California HR practices and experience supporting multi-state employees while understanding when to escalate more significant HR matters to the company’s PEO and external partners.
This is a fully remote position; however, candidates must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, Texas, Utah, Nevada, Idaho, or Oklahoma.
Responsibilities
Employee Support & HR Administration
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee HR questions
- Support managers and employees with day-to-day HR needs
- Maintain organized and accurate employee records and HR systems
- Assist with policy communication and implementation
- Help maintain a consistent and professional employee experience
Onboarding & Offboarding
- Coordinate onboarding for new hires
- Ensure completion of required employment documentation and compliance paperwork
- Manage employee offboarding processes and documentation
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding tasks with managers and internal departments
Compliance & HR Operations
- Assist in maintaining compliance with California and multi-state employment requirements
- Track required trainings, certifications, acknowledgements, and HR documentation
- Assist with leave administration coordination and workers compensation tracking
- Support handbook updates and HR process improvements
- Help maintain organized HR workflows and procedures
PEO & Vendor Coordination
- Serve as day-to-day liaison with the company’s PEO
- Escalate complex employee relations, compliance, or legal concerns appropriately
- Coordinate benefits administration support and employee requests
Qualifications
- 3+ years of HR Generalist, HR Operations, or HR Administration experience
- Strong understanding of California HR and employment practices
- Experience supporting multi-state employees preferred
- Experience working with a PEO strongly preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and follow-through
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Experience supporting field-based, construction, environmental, or multi-location operations is a plus
Compensation
Expected salary range:
- $60,000 – $90,000 depending on experience, qualifications, and location
