Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist supports employees, supervisors, and managers in the execution of human resources programs and initiatives.
This role is responsible for delivering operational and employee-facing HR services, including employee relations, onboarding, payroll administration, labor relations support, compliance, leave administration, and HR data management.
The HR Generalist ensures that HR policies and procedures are effectively implemented and adhered to, fostering a positive and productive workplace culture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Compliance & Risk Management
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws as well as applicable collective bargaining agreements, company policies, safety requirements, and ethical standards.
• Support leave of absence administration and accommodations processes.
• Assist with ECA documentation and pre-employment compliance requirements.
• Support labor law posting, record retention, and HR audit activities.
• Administer site random, reasonable suspicion and pre-employment Drug & Alcohol testing
HR Operations & Administration
• Partner with Payroll, Benefits, IT, and Shared Services to ensure employee lifecycle transactions are processed accurately and timely.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data.
• Prepare workforce reports, metrics, and employment documentation.
Employee Relations
• Serve as the first point of contact for employee and frontline supervisor HR-related questions.
• Provide guidance on company policies, procedures, attendance, performance management, and workplace expectations.
• Conduct and support investigations involving policy violations, employee complaints, workplace concerns, and misconduct; prepare investigation summaries, maintain accurate documentation, and recommend or administer appropriate corrective actions and conflict resolution measures.
Labor Relations
• Support administration of collective bargaining agreements where applicable.
• Interpret labor contract provisions and provide guidance to leaders regarding contract compliance.
• Participate in grievance investigations and fact-finding activities.
• Maintain positive working relationships with union representatives and bargaining unit employees.
Payroll Administration
• Partner with Payroll and supervisors to ensure accurate processing of payroll.
• Audit timekeeping records, attendance, overtime, shift premiums, and pay adjustments.
• Act as an escalation point for employee inquiries regarding compensation, payroll, and timekeeping issues.
• Process employee status changes that impact payroll, including transfers, promotions, leaves, and terminations.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
• Manage pre-employment activities including background checks, drug screening, and compliance requirements.
• Conduct new hire orientation and onboarding.
• Coordinate Day One readiness activities with IT, Facilities, Payroll, and Shared Services.
Leave Administration & Benefits
• Serve as site liaison for leave of absence administration and disability management.
• Coordinate employee communication related to FMLA, state leave programs, ADA accommodations, and workers' compensation.
• Partner with third-party leave administrators and Shared Services to ensure timely handling of leave cases.
Employee Engagement & Culture
• Assist with employee recognition programs and engagement activities.
• Support site communications and HR initiatives.
• Help foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
• Proactively build relationships with all employees by conducting daily walk through of operations areas to ensure open two-way communication with the department.

Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Experience
• 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
• Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, aerospace, or unionized environments preferred.
• Experience with Dayforce or similar HRIS/payroll systems preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of payroll processes, timekeeping systems, and wage and hour regulations.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR technology platforms.
• Ability to work off shifts on occasion
