Job Title

Human Resources (HR) Generalist

Position Summary

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting and administering a broad range of human resources functions, including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, performance management, compliance, policy implementation, training and development, and HR operations. This role serves as a key resource for employees and managers, helping to foster a positive workplace culture while ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee HR-related questions and concerns.
  • Support managers and employees in resolving workplace issues and conflicts.
  • Promote employee engagement and a positive work environment.
  • Conduct investigations and assist with employee relations matters as needed.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Coordinate recruitment activities, including posting job openings, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and facilitating offers.
  • Support hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
  • Manage new hire onboarding and orientation programs.
  • Ensure completion of new hire documentation and compliance requirements.

HR Administration

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.
  • Process employee status changes, including promotions, transfers, leaves of absence, and terminations.
  • Assist with HR reporting, metrics, and audits.
  • Ensure confidentiality of employee information.

Benefits & Leave Administration

  • Support employee benefits enrollment and changes.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding benefits programs.
  • Assist with leave administration, including FMLA, ADA, and other applicable programs.
  • Coordinate with benefits brokers and vendors as needed.

Performance Management & Development

  • Assist with performance review processes and annual evaluation cycles.
  • Support employee development and training initiatives.
  • Track training completion and professional development activities.
  • Provide guidance on performance improvement plans and corrective actions.

Compliance & Policy Administration

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Assist in developing and updating HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
  • Support workplace safety programs and required compliance training.
  • Participate in HR audits and compliance reviews.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of progressive HR experience.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Experience with HRIS and applicant tracking systems preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent HR certification.
  • Experience supporting multi-state employee populations.
  • Knowledge of compensation, benefits, and employment compliance programs.
