HR Generalist (Safety, Workers' Compensation & Compliance) – Manufacturing

Position Summary

The HR Generalist supports daily HR operations while leading safety, regulatory compliance, workers' compensation administration, and employee training initiatives in a manufacturing environment. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment and safety regulations while promoting a safe and productive workplace.

Pay $60,000-$90,000 based on experience

Key Responsibilities

HR & Compliance

  • Administer HR policies in compliance with FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, and applicable state laws.
  • Manage employee relations matters, investigations, and corrective action processes.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure HRIS compliance.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management processes.
  • Ensure compliance with wage and hour regulations in a manufacturing setting.

Safety & Regulatory Oversight

  • Maintain OSHA compliance and manage required reporting (OSHA 300, 300A, 301 logs).
  • Conduct safety audits, hazard assessments, and facility walk-throughs.
  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and document required safety training (LOTO, forklift, PPE, hazard communication).
  • Support safety committee activities and regulatory inspections.

Workers' Compensation

  • Manage all workers' compensation claims from injury reporting through return-to-work.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, medical providers, and insurance carriers.
  • Administer modified duty and return-to-work programs.
  • Track claim trends and recommend injury prevention strategies.

Training & Documentation

  • Deliver and track compliance-based training (safety, harassment prevention, policy updates).
  • Maintain accurate training and certification records.
  • Support supervisors with performance documentation and compliance standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Safety, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of HR experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and employment law.
  • Experience managing workers' compensation claims.
  • Experience with HRIS systems, UKG knowledge preferred.
  • HR certification (SHRM-CP/PHR) or OSHA certification preferred.
