    HR Generalist
    Department: Human Resources, Nutrition
    Location: Salt Lake City, Utah
    Type: Full-Time
     
    Summary:
    The HR Generalist role covers a broad range of activities and initiatives, supporting managers and employees. This role ensures company and employee compliance with human resources policies and programs, including recruitment, selection, retention, legal compliance, employee relations, employment practices and procedures, employee communications, and employee events. The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting overall business objectives like change initiatives, building and retaining a high-performing culture and talent excellence.
     
     
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
    •Manage the full recruiting/on-boarding lifecycle process for hourly production and warehouse employees, including but not limited to posting, sourcing, interviewing and managing the candidate experience.  
    •Conduct new employee company orientation program. 
    •Track compliance with 30,60,90-day evaluation for all new hires at location
    •Primary liaison between Prinova and staffing agencies.
    •Work collaboratively with other HR staff, employees, and managers to resolve employee issues that arise due to policy interpretations, procedural issues, job performance concerns, time off, harassment concerns, and other employee related issues.
    •Support performance management programs including goal-setting, performance evaluations and career development. 
    •Assist in the implementation and administration of a robust communications plan.
    •Act as HR representative for the local committees including providing monthly Production related HR KPIs and being the local HR representative on the Safety committee.
    •Assist with development and promotion of employee engagement initiatives, including recognition programs, surveys and company events.
    •Maintain all employee files in compliance with regulations.
    •Maintain up to date knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and recommend changes to policies, practices, and procedures required to ensure compliance.
    •Coordinate the Service Awards program for employees
    •Assists with planning various employee activities and services such as company events, quarterly meetings, newsletter updates, etc.
    •Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
    •Maintain employee confidence and protects operations by keeping human resource information confidential
    •Provide administrative HR support such as entering, formatting, printing, and copying information in addition to assisting in the development and/or modification of company policies and procedures
    •Other duties as deemed necessary
     
    Requirements and Skills
    •Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, training and development, or other related field, with a minimum of 3+ years of relevant professional experience, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.Human Resources certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, etc.) preferred.
    •Business-focused approach and a commitment to professionalism and integrity.
    •Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong managerial, interpersonal, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills; detail oriented and able to execute initiatives quickly and accurately.
    •Strong presentation skills with an excellent ability to engage an audience.
    •Demonstrated ability to research, develop, deploy, evaluate, and manage training and development programs and initiatives.
    •Comfort working independently, as an effective team member, and with all levels of the organization, in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and deadlines.
    •Creativity, with a high attention to detail and commitment to excellence, demonstrated by the delivery of quality and timely outcomes.
    •Strong analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills, paired with the ability to think creatively about improvements and offer innovative solutions.
    •Proactive problem-solving and critical thinking skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
    •Proficient in MS Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel)
    •Bilingual (English/Spanish) Preferred
     
    Work Conditions & Physical Requirements
    •Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
    •Work environment is normally in an office setting. Must be able to make frequent rounds in a warehouse environment
    •Ability to view a computer screen and type for extended hours
    •Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
    •Other physical requirements include moderate standing and occasional squatting, bending, and twisting.
    •Ability to work around a variety of different smells and aromas
    •Ability to adjust work schedule as business needs require
