Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for the recruitment of new technicians for upcoming projects and short-term sales requests

  • Developing a pipeline of Wind Turbine Technicians to meet project requirements and peak period demands

  • Being a key driver in GWS’s recruitment and branding strategy, ensuring market presence and ongoing development of our candidate database of skilled technicians for future works and within new markets

  • Negotiating pay rates and finalizing arrangements between internal stakeholders and candidates

  • Maintaining a globally aligned recruitment process and approach, focusing on fast initiation and delivery, flexibility and scalability

  • Continuous development and improvements of both process and tools around our recruitment process, to improve efficiency, global alignment and candidate experience

  • Reviewing internal recruitment policies to ensure effectiveness of selection techniques and recruitment programs

  • Ensure effective activities in relevant markets based on business needs and the global recruitment strategy

  • Providing improved customer experience within GWS for internal stakeholders driving the recruitment process; through focus, communication and proactivity by;

  • Collaborating with the internal HR Team to ensure clear overviews, progress, and communication internally within HR, and towards the business

  • Ensuring aligned expectations and prioritisation of recruitment needs with key stakeholders, primarily our Sales and Operations Teams

  • Working collaboratively with GWS Resource Managers to ensure alignment of internal capacity vs. the need to recruit new technicians

  • Foster productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Understand and follow federal, state, and local laws around hiring

Support Basis:

  • Process new hire onboarding, including union and non-union

  • Update HRIS/payroll system for employee data maintenance 

  • Maintain physical and digital personnel records 

  • Draft project assignment letters

  • Understand and enforce all company policies and procedures

  • Special projects as assigned

  • All other duties as assigned 

Job requirements

Requirements For Success in the Role

  • 3-5 years of recruitment experience in the wind energy, oil and gas or construction industry strongly preferred

  • Prior experience in HR, particularly in onboarding and compliance roles is preferred

  • Strong PC skills, with proficiency in MS Office

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

  • Experience working with high volume recruitment in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to deliver exceptional service resulting in high levels of customer satisfaction

  • Self-starter who can proactively manage their own workload

  • Positive attitude towards service delivery

  • Determined and resilient

  • Commercially astute

  • Ability to create and maintain structure but also to think outside of the box

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Pre-employment background check and drug test

Working Conditions and Environment 

  • Must be able to work independently. 

  • Must be able to move around the office up to 20% of the time to make copies, etc. 

  • This position operates computers and other office productivity machines (e.g. copier, printer, etc.) on a regular basis. This position must be able to inspect and observe information on a computer screen at least 80% of the time. 

  • This position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 

  • This position requires constant communication and exchange of information with the Company’s employees, clients, vendors and/or contractors. 

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. 

  • Must be valid to work in the United States.
