Position Overview

Fairfield New Jersey company looking for hands-on HR Manager. The HR Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of the Company's human resources function. This role oversees payroll, benefits, talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, compensation, performance management, and organizational development while supporting executive leadership in building a high-performing, engaged workforce. The HR Manager ensures compliance with all federal and state employment regulations and develops people strategies that support the Company's continued growth and long-term success.

Key Deliverables

  • Bi‑Weekly Payroll management for hourly and salaried employees
  • Recruiting and full‑cycle talent acquisition
  • 401k Administration including loans, compliance, and filings
  • Benefits Administration including Medical, Dental, Life, LTD, COBRA, and FMLA

Essential Responsibilities

  • Process, audit, and deliver payroll from start to finish
  • Handle all daily payroll tasks and implementation
  • Manage vacation, sick, float, and PTO tracking in accordance with company policy
  • Benefit Negotiation, plan development, administration and implementation
  • Manage full‑cycle recruitment: job ads, resume review, phone screens, interviews, and offers background checks, drug screenings, and onboarding documentation
  • Manage new hire onboarding and exit processes
  • Develop compensation and benefits programs
  • Resolve employee relations issues and support disciplinary actions
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and legislative HR requirements
  • Plan and implement company events

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience
  • Expertise in payroll systems and reporting, especially ADP Workforce Now
  • Strong knowledge of benefits administration and regulatory filings
  • Experience managing 401k plans and 401k annual audits
  • Proven success in talent acquisition and workforce planning

Preferred Experience

  • FMLA, STD, LTD, and state‑specific leave programs (including NJ Paid FMLA)
  • Organizational charting and cross‑functional analysis
  • Supporting audits and tax filing compliance
  • Managing HRIS and timekeeping systems (e.g., EZ Labor)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
