    Summary:


    The Human Resources Manager supports the museum’s mission by leading core HR operations

    that help attract, develop, and retain a talented, service-oriented workforce. This role is hands-

    on and oversees recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, policy administration, benefits

    coordination, performance management, training, and compliance. The ideal candidate brings

    strong HR expertise along with an appreciation for the museum’s public-facing environment,

    collaborative culture, and commitment to creating a welcoming experience for staff, visitors,

    artists, educators, and community partners. The HR Manager works closely with the CHRO to

    implement HR initiatives and policies, shape museum culture, and translate strategic direction

    into effective day-to-day practices across the museum.


    Essential duties and responsibilities:

    • Manage and perform daily HR operations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of HR
    • services.
    • Leads end-to-end recruitment process from writing job postings and sourcing
    • candidates to conducting interviews, hiring, onboarding, and employee orientation
    • activities.
    • Serve as primary point of contact and trusted resources for employees and supervisors
    • regarding policies, procedures, workplace concerns, and employee relations matters.
    • Conduct workplace investigations and assist with disciplinary actions, performance
    • improvement plans, and conflict resolution.
    • Administer employee benefits programs, leave management, workers compensation,
    • and accommodations.
    • Maintain HRIS records, personnel files, and support the payroll process.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and organizational
    • policies.
    • Coordinate HR systems, reporting, and audits; maintain accurate personnel
    • documentation and required postings
    • Coordinate employee performance review processes and support managers with
    • performance management activities.
    • Support employee engagement initiatives that foster professionalism, inclusion,
    • collaboration, and excellent public service.
    • Partner with department leaders to support performance management, coaching,
    • professional development, and succession planning
    • Support leadership with workforce planning, organizational updates, and HR metrics to
    • inform decision-making
    • Assist with compensation administration and employment-related processes.
    • Other duties as assigned


    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field
    • required.
    • A minimum of five years of human resource management experience preferred.
    • SHRM-CP or PHR highly desired.
    • Hands on an operationally focused
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
    • Highly organized with attention to detail and compliance
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
    • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
    • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
    • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent
    • management systems.

    Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

    • Primarily performed in a standard office environment
    • Use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, and copiers
    • Low to moderate noise level consistent with an office setting
    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
    • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and operating office equipment
    • Frequent standing, walking, bending, or reaching
    • Ability to lift and carry light items (typically up to 10–15 pounds), such as files or office
