Vaco has a great opportunity for an HR Manager in Jacksonville, Florida.  This is direct hire and is 100% onsite.  Ideally the candidate is able to work 6:30am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday.
 

Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to establish and lead the HR function for a growing organization. Reporting directly to executive leadership, this individual will play a key role in shaping company culture, attracting and retaining top talent, improving HR processes, and building the infrastructure needed to support continued growth.

Position Summary

The Human Resources Manager will oversee all day-to-day HR operations, including talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, workers' compensation, compliance, employee records, training coordination, and HR process improvement.

The successful candidate will build scalable HR programs while partnering with leadership to support organizational growth and future expansion.

Primary Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, background checks, offer letters, and onboarding.
  • Develop and maintain job descriptions and recruiting processes.
  • Coordinate new hire orientation and onboarding documentation, including employment eligibility verification and payroll-related forms.
  • Coordinate employee equipment, uniforms, and onboarding logistics.

Employee Relations & HR Administration

  • Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and managers.
  • Support employee relations, coaching, conflict resolution, investigations, and performance documentation.
  • Maintain employee personnel files and HR records.
  • Ensure confidentiality while handling sensitive employee information.

Benefits Administration

  • Administer medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, and other employee benefit programs.
  • Coordinate annual open enrollment and qualifying life event changes.
  • Reconcile monthly benefit invoices and employee deductions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefit questions.
  • Administer company-sponsored employee assistance or educational benefit programs, as applicable.

Payroll & Leave Administration

  • Maintain employee PTO, vacation, and leave records.
  • Partner with payroll to ensure employee information is accurate and current.
  • Assist with HR-related payroll administration as needed.

Workers' Compensation & Compliance

  • Administer the company's workers' compensation program, including claims management, injury reporting, return-to-work coordination, and annual audits.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations.
  • Support unemployment claims and other employment-related compliance activities.

Training & Organizational Development

  • Coordinate employee training and leadership development initiatives.
  • Assist with performance management processes.
  • Prepare HR reports, metrics, and compliance documentation for leadership.

Process Improvement

  • Evaluate and improve HR processes and workflows.
  • Assist with HR technology enhancements and system implementations.
  • Develop scalable HR policies and procedures that support organizational growth.
  • Support HR integration efforts associated with company growth initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Five or more years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, benefits administration, workers' compensation, and HR best practices.
  • Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Experience

  • Construction, field services, manufacturing, distribution, logistics, landscaping, or other labor-intensive industries.
  • Supporting organizations experiencing growth and organizational change.
  • Developing scalable HR policies, procedures, and systems.
  • HR technology implementation or process improvement initiatives.
  • Mergers, acquisitions, or workforce integration experience.
