J&J Truck Bodies and Trailers is seeking an experienced HR Manager responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day human resources functions. This position partners closely with leadership, supervisors, and employees to support a positive workplace culture, ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies, attract and retain employees, and develop programs that support the company's operational goals. The HR Manager serves as a trusted resource for employees and management and is expected to maintain a visible, hands-on presence throughout the manufacturing operation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:Employee Relations:Serve as a resource to employees and supervisors regarding workplace concerns, policies, and employment matters.Investigate employee complaints, workplace issues, and employee relations concerns.Coach and advise supervisors on performance management, attendance, corrective actions, and disciplinary matters.Conduct and document employee investigations while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.Promote a respectful, professional, and positive work environment.Partner with management to address employee engagement and retention concerns.Recruiting & Staffing:Lead recruiting efforts for production, skilled trades, administrative, and leadership positions.Develop effective recruiting strategies to attract qualified manufacturing candidates.Coordinate job postings, candidate screening, interviews, background checks, drug testing, and onboarding.Build relationships with schools, technical programs, workforce organizations, and recruiting partners.Monitor staffing needs and work with department leaders to anticipate future hiring requirements.Compliance & Policies:Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state employment laws and regulations.Administer company policies and recommend updates as needed.Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.Oversee compliance with FMLA, ADA, worker's compensation, unemployment, EEO, wage and hour requirements, and other applicable regulations.Support company audits and maintain required HR documentation.Performance Management:Manage the company's performance review process.Assist managers with setting performance expectations and addressing performance concerns.Develop and maintain corrective action processes.Identify employee development opportunities and succession planning needs.Training & Development:Coordinate new employee orientation and onboarding.Identify training needs and coordinate employee development programs.Support leadership development and supervisor training.Coordinate required compliance and workplace training.HR Administration:Maintain HRIS and employee records.Prepare HR reports and analyze workforce data.Assist with payroll-related questions and employee timekeeping issues.Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information.Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned. Supervisory:The HR Manager leads the company's human resources function and directly supervises the HR Coordinator. This position provides str and day-to-day HR support to leadership, supervisors, and employees while overseeing employee relations, recruiting, compliance, performance management, training, and employee engagement.Education and/or Experience:Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.3-5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.Experience with employee relations, recruiting, performance management, and compliance.Strong communication, organization, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively with employees from the production floor through executive level.
