HR Operations Project Lead

Our client, HR Services is seeking a HR Operations Project Lead to join their team. As a HR Operations Project Lead, you will be part of the HR network supporting service delivery teams. The ideal candidate will have strong employee relations expertise, a proactive problem-solving mindset, and the ability to manage complex HR cases with care and precision, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: HR Operations Project Lead

Location: Hoboken, NJ (100% onsite)

Pay Range: $35 to $38
Duration: 6 months with the possibility of extension/conversion
 

What's the Job?

• Serve as a key People Partner supporting line managers and employees during critical employee moments, helping maintain a positive work environment while minimizing reputational and compliance risks.
• Lead end-to-end employee relations activities, including performance improvement, disciplinary actions, grievance handling, consultation processes, and redundancy-related matters—ensuring correct interpretation of employment legislation, HR policies, and HR practices.
• Drive “Tier 2 Care” within the service delivery model by advising on and resolving complex local policy, regulatory, or legal escalations and handling cases that require market intervention or decisions.
• Provide hands-on support for complex cases, including writing scripts, collating investigation reports, and drafting outcome letters to help move matters through to completion.
• Coach and support line managers by identifying employee relations trends, recommending solutions to address root causes, and staying current on changes in employment legislation and HR practices.

What's Needed?

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in HR (e.g., HR Advisor, HR Generalist, HRBP).
• Excellent negotiation skills with Employee/Industrial Relations preferred.
• Strong organization skills with attention to detail and diligence, with the ability to work independently and in a matrix teamwork environment.
• A genuine passion for people partnership and problem solving that drives people and business performance.
