The HR Operations Specialist serves as a Human Resources Consultant with deep expertise in performance management and HR consulting, using data, automation, and emerging technologies to enhance how HR delivers value. In this role, you partner closely with HR teams, managers, and business leaders to support an inclusive culture, elevate manager capability, and deliver scalable, data-driven HR solutions. You provide hands-on guidance to managers and employees on complex workplace matters while continuously identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve the overall employee experience. Responsibilities + Coach and advise managers and employees on complex workplace matters, using data and insights to inform recommendations and ensure fair, consistent outcomes. + Provide expert consultation on career development, performance management, workplace behavior, and HR policy interpretation, helping managers navigate sensitive and challenging situations. + Collaborate with HR Business Partners to support and enable strategic people priorities, aligning HR practices with broader business goals. + Design and implement scalable, automated solutions that strengthen manager effectiveness, reduce manual effort, and improve efficiency across the HR lifecycle. + Identify opportunities to streamline HR workflows, improve decision quality, and free up time for higher-impact consulting work. + Partner across a matrixed environment, including HR, Legal, and Compliance, to shape and apply local policies and practices in a consistent and compliant manner. + Lead the diagnosis and resolution of increasingly complex issues related to policy, culture, or employee relations concerns, partnering with HR and Legal as needed while prioritizing a safe and professional work environment. + Identify and escalate trends in employee relations, working with partners to implement solutions that reduce recurring issues and improve overall outcomes. + Provide expert consulting to managers and employees on HR programs, processes, and initiatives, influencing decision-making through strong judgment and context-based insights. + Use data-driven insights to anticipate training and capability needs, recommending and delivering targeted solutions such as training sessions, resources, or communications. + Evaluate HR processes for opportunities to streamline and improve efficiency, partnering with HR operations and technology teams to design, test, and scale new solutions. + Apply HR values and policies consistently across programs such as leave, retirement, immigration, and performance management, ensuring compliance and fairness. + Support managers and employees with day-to-day HR questions, performance conversations, and employee relations matters, providing timely and accurate guidance. + Respond to inquiries, document cases, and ensure timely follow-through on agreed actions, maintaining accurate and complete case records. + Contribute to short-term CRM and case management activities focused on data entry, accuracy, and proper documentation. + Identify common themes or recurring questions from managers and employees and help improve guidance, resources, or processes over time. + Embody the organization's culture and values in all interactions, modeling impartiality, objectivity, and respect. + Continuously look for ways to modernize how HR work gets done, leveraging data, automation, and emerging technologies to enhance HR service delivery. Essential Skills + 2-4 years of HR or employee relations experience supporting managers or employees with HR-related questions or issues. + 2+ years of performance management knowledge, including a basic understanding of performance processes and coaching support. + 1-2 years of case management and documentation experience, including tracking and documenting issues or requests in a structured way. + Strong foundation in HR, employee relations, or a related field with practical experience in HR consulting or employee relations. + Working knowledge of performance management practices and HR policies, including how they apply in day-to-day manager and employee scenarios. + Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain HR concepts clearly and build trust with managers and employees. + Sound judgment and the ability to apply policies and practices impartially and objectively. + Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment. + Comfort working with data and insights to inform decisions, identify trends, and anticipate training or capability needs. + Ability to collaborate in a matrixed environment and partner with HR, Legal, Compliance, and other stakeholders. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in a large or matrixed organization is helpful and provides valuable context for managing complex HR issues. + Experience as a human resources generalist, HR consultant, or in a similar HR operations role. + Hands-on experience with employee relations, including handling complex cases and partnering with HR or Legal partners when needed. + Exposure to CRM or case management systems and comfort with structured data entry and documentation. + Interest in using automation, technology, and emerging tools to improve HR processes and reduce manual work. + Willingness to ask questions, seek clarification, and continuously learn in order to strengthen consulting skills. + Ability to identify patterns and recurring issues and contribute ideas to improve HR guidance, resources, and processes. + Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a supportive team environment and contribute to shared goals. Work Environment This role operates in a hybrid work environment based in the Redmond, WA area, and candidates must be local enough to meet on-site requirements. The position follows a Monday through Friday schedule, working approximately 40 hours per week, with no expected overtime. You will provide both virtual and on-site support as needed, partnering closely with managers, employees, and HR colleagues in a dynamic, fast-paced setting. The team uses CRM or case management tools to track and document issues, and standard equipment is provided. You work within a structured, professional environment that emphasizes accurate documentation, timely follow-through, and collaboration across HR, Legal, and Compliance. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Redmond, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
