La Cava Jacobson, P.A. is currently seeking an HR/Payroll Specialist to join the firm at the Tampa Office. This position will under the supervision and guidance of the Firm’s HR/Payroll Manager. The ideal candidate will be able to multi-task and shift between priorities throughout the day. This position will serve as a firm liaison on day-to-day HR/Payroll processes. Primary Responsibilities
Payroll Responsibilities - Assist in the accurate processing and recording of the Firm’s payroll, provide timely and accurate information, participate in the daily data entry for payroll processing.
- Check and audit timekeeping records, maintaining time and attendance records, entering new hires into the payroll system, posting changes in pay and tax status and miscellaneous changes.
- Manage workflow to ensure all payroll related transactions are processed accurately and timely.
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
- Process garnishments, child support orders or tax levies.
- Process employment verifications.
- Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, W-2c, etc.)
- Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
- Audit and Reconcile Invoices from Employee Benefits’ Insurance carriers.
- Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.
Human Resources Responsibilities - Perform several functions associated with new and existing staff, act as direct liaison with external HR partner on payroll, benefit, and other human resources matters.
- Coordinate activities involving employee on-boarding (new hire orientations) and separations (exit interviews).
- Assist with the recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel and temporary employees.
- Oversee, develop, and facilitate posting of job openings on company job boards, external job boards, and other professional organization venues as appropriate.
- Conducts pre-employment screening and background checks.
- Ensure all necessary documents are provided to new employees and contractors for completion.
- Maintain confidentiality of personnel files.
- Review all completed forms and required documents for new employees and contractors.
- Establish and ensure that employee job descriptions are current.
- Maintain the Firm’s HRIS System.
- Work closely with the firm’s CFO in providing payroll reports, compensation and benefits budget information, and other staff-related expense information as needed.
- Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
- Provide ad hoc support and make recommendations on internal communications, staff committees, staff wellness, and other employee initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications - Associate Degree with 2 years of related technical experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of two - three years of experience in HR/Payroll functions for organizations with 100+ employees.
